Description

Folio 126. Affidavit of Robert Reid, gardener, of Banff [Banffshire], swearing that James Paterson had implied he sold 'MacLeod's letters'; In early January Reid received a letter from Lord Braco which he was reading when an argument broke out between himself and James Paterson, during which Paterson said 'Sir I would sell you [Robert Reid]... as well as McLeod's Letters'. Witnessed by James Innes, Justice of the Peace for the county of Banff, and dated at Banff. Filed with:

Affidavit of Robert George, servant to William Forbes, baker, stating that he witnessed the argument between Robert Reid and James Paterson, and also heard Paterson's remark about selling McLeod's letters. Witnessed by Innes, Justice of the Peace for the county of Banff, and dated at Banff.
