Folio 35. Minutes of the Cabinet, attended by the Lord Chancellor [Lord Hardwicke], the Duke of Bedford, [Henry] Pelham, and the Duke of Newcastle, with [Philip Carteret] Webb called to attend. Meeting concerning the fates of several [Jacobite] prisoners. James Ancram is recommended to be reprieved, while nine are 'to suffer', namely: Thomas Coppoch [Coppock]; John Machaughton; James Brand; Donald MacDonald of Tyrnadrish; John Henderson; Francis Buchanan of Arnprior; Donald MacDonald of Kinlochmoydart; Hugh Cameron; Edward Roper. A draft of a letter to General [James] St Clair and Admiral [Richard] Lestock was also approved. Dated at Whitehall [London, Midddlesex].
