Folio 19. J T [James Taylor] to John Carmichael, 'merchant to be found at the Potshop opposite the Mitre Tavern in Fleet Street [London]', [but intercepted and sent to Newcastle instead]. Concerning the current state of his imprisonment; [William] Carmichael [another prisoner] has escaped. Is still unsure how or when he will be released, but has been told by Captain [Stratford] Eyre that that Mr?Poynzt is supporting his case. Mentions that he and [another prisoner] Mr Watt do not know who they can apply to for help, and seeking news of 'my Lady Stewart'. Also passing on thanks from [another prisoner] Mr Gordon to Carmichael, for delivering his letters for him. Seal attached. Dated on board the Pamela prisoner transport.
