Folios 10-11. Two copies of the petition of William Home, prisoner under sentence of death at Carlisle Castle [Cumberland], an orphan not 14-years-old on enlistment, whose uncle was a commissioner of the peace for Berwickshire. Seeking mercy on account of his youth, and noting that he was seduced to join the [Jacobite] rebellion by 'the promise of laced clothes', and stating that 'carrying a set of the rebel colours' was his only offence.
