Folio 67. Affidavit of William Murray on behalf of Robert Forbes, prisoner at Carlisle Castle [Cumberland] sentenced to death for High Treason. Murray states that he met Forbes frequently while the [Jacobites] occupied Edinburgh in October 1745, and swears that Forbes often said he was forced into joining the rebels, and that he would leave when the opportunity arose. Witnessed by Justice of the Peace Arche [?Archibald] Murray. Dated at Edinburgh.
