Folio 66. Affidavit of Alexr [Alexander] Harley, merchant, of Edinburgh, on behalf of Robert Forbes, prisoner at Carlisle Castle [Cumberland] sentenced to death for High Treason. Harley swears that Forbes complained of being 'seduced... when he was in liquor' to join the rebels [Jacobites], and that he was threatened with imprisonment should he try to escape. Witnessed by Justice of the Peace Arche [?Archibald] Murray. Dated at Edinburgh.
