Folio 15. Affidavit of Hugo Campbell, providing evidence in favour of a rebel [Jacobite], Roderick McCulloch, at this time 'a prisoner for High Treason'. Campbell was employed by George Sinclair, county sheriff of Caithness. The sheriff's estate was occupied by the rebels, and according to Campbell it was McCulloch who prevented the house staff and locals being forced into joining the rebellion. He also stopped rebels from plundering and looting nearby homes. Witnessed by Justice of the Peace James Sinclair, and dated at Stangergill, [Castletown] Caithness.
