Folios 7 - 8. Wm [William] Skipton [to the Duke of Newcastle], describing the neglect of the rebel [Jacobite] prisoners in Carlisle castle [Cumberland]. According to Skipton they do not have proper beds or sheets to protect them from the cold. Also thanking the Duke for some money he sent which was used to buy warmer clothes for the prisoners. Dated at Carlisle [Cumberland].
