Folio 108. Petition of [Jacobite] Robert Taylor, late shoemaker of Edinburgh, late prisoner in Edinburgh Castle, now Carlisle [Cumberland], convicted of High Treason. [Enclosed in Judges letter to Duke of Newcastle 22 September 1746, above]. Enclosing:
Folio 109-110. Copy of letter to General Guest from Eagtd Griffith, with copy certified by Peter Stalkett at Edinburgh 21 August 1746. The letter brings attention to 'the remarkable care Mr Taylour took of our wounded prisoners at Colonel [James] Gardiner's house' [East Lothian, after Battle of Prestonpans]. It also mentions colonels Whitefoord and Stalket, Mrs Guest and Mrs Griffiths. Copy verified by Peter Halkett. Dated at Perth [Perthshire], on 12 October 1745.
Folio 111. Affidavit of Lieutenant Leonard Herviston [signs Hewetson] of HM Regiment of Foot commanded by Colonel Lee, referring to the care given by Taylor to himself, Colonel Disney of Colonel Murray's regiment, and other wounded officers. Sworn at Carlisle before T Burkett, on 12 September 1746.
Folio 112. Affidavit of by Alexander Munro, Professor of Anatomy at Edinburgh University, outlining the personal assistance rendered him by Taylor, and the provisions he obtained for wounded prisoners. Also mentions Francis Drum, surgeon of Colonel Lascelle's regiment, and Captain Disney. Sworn at Carlisle before T Burkett, on 12 September 1746.

Affidavit of Martin McPherson, late servant to Edinburgh vintner Richard Walker, now inn-keeper at Dowglas, describing the provisions purchased by Taylor for wounded soldiers, and the physical assistance he rendered at [Prestonpans] battlefield [East Lothian]. Sworn at Carlisle before T Burkett, on 12 September 1746.
Folio 114. Affidavit of Christian Sandilands, daughter of Lord Torphichen, describing the assistance Taylor render to the wounded at Colonel Gardiner's house. She was there attending her wounded brother, a lieutenant in Colonel Lee's regiment. Sworn before And [Andrew] Houstoun on 1 September 1746. Dated at Calder House [Calder Hall, West Lothian].
Folio 115. Affidavit of Ann Denoon [signs?Dernine], wife of Edinburgh vintner Richard Walker, describing how Taylor bought provisions from her, and how her servants accompanied him to deliver them to the wounded at Col Gardiner's house. Sworn before James Falconer of Mountain. Dated at Edinburgh, on 1 September 1746.
Folio 116-117. Affidavit of Jean Bea [signs Bee], late servant to Robert Menzies, writer to the signet, now spouse to Francis Little, joiner of Edinburgh, describing how she was sent to Colonel Gardiner's house to attended the wounded Master of Torphichen, with Christian Sandilands, and saw Taylor bringing supplies for the distressed soldiers there. Dated at Edinburgh.
