Folio 107-108. Copy of documents in the case of Robert Taylor, shoemaker of Edinburgh, prisoner in Carlisle [Cumberland], who admits in his petition to taking part in the [Jacobite] Rebellion owing to 'straitened circumstances'. Affidavits of Alexander Monro professor of anatomy at University of Edinburgh; Leonard Hewtson, lieutenant of the Regiment of Foot commanded by Colonel Lee; and Martin Macpherson late servant of vintner and innkeeper Richard Walker. All swear to Taylor's efforts in provisioning and caring for the wounded of the King's army, at Colonel Gardiner's house, after the Battle of Preston [Prestonpans, East Lothian]. Francis Drummond surgeon in the regiment of Colonel Lapell, Captain Disney of Colonel Murray's regiment also mentioned. Dated at Carlisle.
