Report by the recorder of London, John Stracey, of a petition by John Smith against conviction, at the Old Bailey 2 July 1746, for stealing Bank Note Number 384, subscribed with the name Ralph Morrison, the property of William Twiss, and brought to his house by Giles Webb. Witnesses: Mrs Twiss, wife of prosecutor; John Clarke, constable; Ralph Morrison, bank [of England] cashier; Margaret Jones, landlady of accused; Ann Pagett. Two copies.
