Petition to the Duke of Newcastle sent by prisoner John Gordon the Younger of Glenbucket, in the parish of Kirkmichael,[Banffshire], declaring that while his father had been engaged in the [Jacobite] rebellion he himself had not been. Dated at the transporter Pamela in the River Thames. Enclosing: Folio 61. Certification by George Grant Minr [Minister], stating that John Gordon the Younger, of Achriachan [Auchriachan, Glenbucket] did not join the [Jacobite] rebels, and was at home throughout the uprising, recalling Gordon's treatment for blindness by the oculist Dr [? John] Taylor of Edinburgh. Dated 6 September 1746 at Kirkmichael, Banffshire.
