Folio 28. Alexr [Alexander] Vere [to unknown, perhaps Sir John Gordon?], outlining his escape from [Jacobite] rebels after Battle of Falkirk with help from Macculloch of Glasleigh [Roderick McCulloch of Glastulich?] and John Gray of Rogar [Rogart?], [Lieutenant] of Drummond's regiment, and mention assistance of Lord [John] MacLeod. Gives details of Capt [Captain] Monro of Culcairn [?] being shot while leading a party in pursuit of [?Archibald McDonald of] Barisdale in Cameron country. Relays information, from Mr Ganrey's [?] servant, on health of [Earl of] Cromartie's children. Dated at Inverness [Inverness-shire].
