Lieutenant General [Adam] Williamson to [Andrew] Stone, saying Lord Lovat 'hasn't a Guinea to help him', and seeks Mr Stone's intercession in money owed by Lovat to Mr Arbothnot, Mr McMillan, and himself. Williamson also seeks Stone's support in frustrating the efforts of Lady Troquair [Traquair], who is in the Tower visiting her husband, in obtaining permission from the Duke of Newcastle to visit Mrs Williamson. Encloses a letter from Mr [? Starrars], and refers to a previous one sent via Mr Hampden. Comments on adverse state of affairs at Tilbury Fort [Essex]. Dated at the Tower of London [Middlesex].
