To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: Andrew C Reed, Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Woolwich [Kent].
Subject Matter: Letter submitting, with reference to a letter dated 14 November 1865, calling attention to allegations contained in a memorial [petition] from the inhabitants of North Woolwich, as to the nuisance arising from foul ditches and open sewers in that locality, that 'no foul ditches or open sewers exist within the boundaries of this parish; that the drainage of that portion pf the parish situate North of the River Thames is nearly completed; and that measures are in progress for remedying any evils which may exist in the sanitary state of the locality'.
