To: The Home Secretary.
From: John Cowen, Chairman of the Local Board of Health, Woolwich [Kent].
Subject Matter: Petition from the Woolwich Local Board of Health, praying that they may be allowed to put in force the powers of the Lands Clauses Consolidation Act 1845, with respect to the purchase and taking of lands otherwise than by agreement, for the purpose of effecting a certain improvement in a street called 'Thomas Street' or 'Greens End'. A copy of one of the notices, stating the Local Board's intention to take land under the Local Government Act 1858, served upon the owners, lessees and occupiers of premises in Thomas Street or Greens End, Woolwich, on the 16 December 1863, is also enclosed.
