To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: Edward Sargent, Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Woolwich [Kent].
Subject Matter: Letter requesting two certified copies of a sanction to a loan of £2000, previously issued to the Woolwich Local Board, on the mortgage of the Private Improvement Rates. Sargent explains that one copy needs to be lodged with the London and Westminster Bank, who advanced a loan to the Local Board to repay a sum borrowed from the London and County Bank (who have misplaced the original sanction). The other copy is said to be for the purpose of producing to parties whom the Local Board may shortly require a further loan from.
