To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: Arnold Taylor, Superintending Inspector, The Local Government Act Office.
Subject Matter: Minute on a letter from the Clerk to the Local Board of Wallasey [Cheshire] dated 9 June 1869. Taylor states that the memorial [petition] dated 3 June 1869 will be considered at the inquiry on the 23 June 1869. He adds that the Local Board must be prepared to provide the Inspector with the value of their several commercial [properties] - i.e. Gas and Water Works, Steam Ferries and Landing Stages - how much they have cost, and what are the debts and incumbencies existing upon them. Taylor explains that it will be part of the Inspector's duty to ascertain by his inquiry, and from the evidence of the witnesses who may be examined, the extent to which it is expedient to alter or repeal the various Local Acts now in force in Wallasey.
