To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: T Somerville Jones, Clerk of the Wallasey Local Board, Public Offices, Egremont, Birkenhead [Cheshire].
Subject Matter: Letter acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 5 June 1869, enclosing notices of an inquiry directed by the Home Secretary in pursuance of a petition from the Wallasey Local Board for the repeal of certain Sections of Local Acts in force within the Wallasey District. Jones confirms that the notices have been affixed to all the churches, chapels and other places where public notices are usually affixed within the district. With reference to the general expediency of altering or repealing other Sections of the Local Acts, Jones enquires as to what Sections are being referred to, and what alterations are considered expedient.
