To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: T Somerville Jones, Clerk of the Wallasey Local Board, Public Offices, Egremont, Birkenhead [Cheshire].
Subject Matter: Letter acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 19 March 1869. Jones submits that there are many misstatements in the memorial of Evan Thomas - 'but it is the fact that the matter is before the Court of Queen's Bench, as respects certain legal questions connected with it'. He explains that its is 'confidently expected that the Court will have determined those questions long before the expiration of the three months referred to in the notice, and the Wallasey Local Board submit that the case does not, in the interim, call for the exercise of the powers conferred on H M Secretary of State'.
