Folios 471-472.
To: The Home Secretary.
From: Messrs Gray, Johnston and Mounsey, Solicitors, 5 Raymond Buildings, Gray's Inn, London.
Subject Matter: Letter pressing for a reply to their letter of the 26 may 1870, with reference to the scheme for extended sewerage works at Ulverston [Lancashire]. They state that they have reason to believe that the works were being proceeded with before any sanction was obtained, and that they are still being continued. They request that Mr Askew is given the opportunity to inspect the plans, of which no notice has been given to him, but which is required by Sections 5 and 6 of the Local Government Amendment Act 1861, and which are incorporated with the Sewage Utilization Act.
