Folio 457.
To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: John S Sykes, The Sewage Committee of the Sewer Authority, Ulverston [Lancashire].
Subject Matter: Letter acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 28 January 1870, confirming that money borrowed by a Committee appointed by the Vestry to sewer the town of Ulverston can only be applied to the purpose for which it is borrowed. Sykes requests to be informed whether the Committee can lay a rate, or pay out of the money paid to them by the Overseers of Ulverston in compliance with a precept of the Committee, any sum of money to meet expenses incurred in defending a suit in Chancery.
