Folio 456.
To: The Home Secretary.
From: John S Sykes, The Sewage Committee of the Sewer Authority, Ulverston [Lancashire].
Subject Matter: Petition praying that the Home Secretary will take such steps as he may deem necessary to prohibit the application of the money borrow (£8500) for main sewerage purposes at Ulverston to any other purpose than that for which it was borrowed. It is explained that a complaint has been filed by a Wordsworth Harrison against the Sewer Authority, requiring them to desist from polluting a stream running through his estate, and that the Sewer Authority fears that the said sum of money, or a portion of it, will end up being applied in 'defending the action at Law'.
