Attestation of the inhabitants and ministers of the town of Dundee [Angus] on behalf of Sir James Kinloch, stating that, while local commander of the rebel [Jacobite] forces, he 'behaved himself with singular moderation'. He used his influence when the following where imprisoned in Perth [Perthshire]: Alexander Robertson. Late provost; Sir James Halyburton [Haliburton], bailie; Alexander Duncan, town clerk; Thomas Arrat, merchant.
