Selection and destruction information

Selected under PRO acquisition criteria 2.2.1.5 as documenting the effects of the new National Insurance Act on the claiming of benefits and compensation from industrial related injuries.

Administrative / biographical background

The National Insurance Act 1972 modified the National Insurance Act 1965 and the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) Act 1965. Medical boards and appeal tribunals are not bound by findings of non-medical statutory authorities as to personal injuries.

The degree of disablement such as length of amputation determine the extent of benefits available such as the constant Attendance Allowance.
