Description

Depositions of John Sterley (or Strelley), esquire, and Henry Sacheverell, dated 7 and 8 November 14 Henry VIII (1522) concerning a 'riotous stirring' of the people within Derbyshire; disagreement over a lease of coal mines. The depositions also mention Sir John Babington and other men of Darley Dale in Derbyshire. The bundles also include a list of twelve men to whom interrogatories should be put. This document suggests the case was between the crown and Sacheverell.
