Development Officers and other specialists at the England Headquarters were consulted by the Conservation Policy Branch of the Great Britain Headquarters. The consultations were usually about draft policy or technical advice relating to nature conservation issues. The England Headquarters was in close contact with its eight regional offices and was seen as the most appropriate body to comment on the feasibility or impact of new policy or guidance.
