Folio 87. Petition to the Duke of Newcastle from Kenneth McFarquhar, a farmer from Killearnan [Killiernan, Ross-shire], now prisoner at Tilbury [Essex] on suspicion of High Treason. Petitioner describes his arrest by the Earl of Sutherland's militia after the Battle of Culloden, detention aboard a transporter, and states that the Earl's steward is now 'sensible of the mistake' in arresting him.
