Folio 18. List of letters and papers taken from Denis Sughrue [also Soughrue; Sugrue; Shuchrue] and Thady Kelly, both from Ireland. Enclosures:
Folio 19. French. Pass from the Dutch Secretary at Paris for Denis Sughrue, valid for 6 weeks. Printed; wax seal. Dated 13 Oct 1747.
Folio 20. French. Pass from the Dutch Secretary at Paris for Thady Kelly, valid for 2 months; wax seal. Dated 15 Oct 1747.
Folios 21-22. Denis Sughrue to David Murphy. Sughrue asks for assistance in obtaining a passport for England or Ireland, citing family connections as a form of introduction. Dated 11 Nov 1747, Helford Slue [Helvoetsluys, Netherlands].
Folios 23-24. Cornelius Ryan to Daniel Cronin, Kerry, Ireland. Ryan gives news of his travels, his health and mutual acquaintances. Dated 16 Oct 1747.
Folio 25. Pass for Gregory Shortall from Christmas Paul, Mayor of Waterford [Ireland]. Dated 18 July 1747.
Folios 26-39. Letters to be delivered by Sughrue:
Folio 26: Thomas Sughrue to John Mahony of Kerry, Ireland. Sending regards and good wishes;
Folio 27: [Brother] to Lavallin Bullermerch, to be forwarded to William Ryan. Tells of his health and that of other acquaintances. Asks to be remembered to family and friends;
Folio 29: [?unknown] to Philip O'Sullivan. Tells of health, including his illness with smallpox. Asks to be remembered to family and friends;
Folio 31: George Falvey to his mother, Mrs Catherine Falvey. Asks his mother to assist Mr Shuchrue [Sughrue] with any means possible and sends a guinea to his sister. Asks his mother to keeps his affairs private other than his being well and in good health. Dated: Paris [France], October 12 1747;
Folio 31: P Brett to Dr John Brett, at Ballimole near Boyle [Ireland]. Saddened that he has not heard from his brother in recent times. Sends regards of family and friends;
Folio 34: Patt [Patrick] Blolen [?Brolen] to John Finan of Belena, [Ballina, Ireland]. Writes with news of family now in France and their reluctance to return to Ireland, his on-going education at the university and sends regards to family and friends. Dated: 8 October 1747;
Folio 36: Crowley to Mrs Mary Crowley, Cork [Ireland]. Sends regards to family and friends;
Folio 37: C des Crosses to Mrs Boucher. Informs Mrs Boucher that Mr Boucher has written often but received no reply. Dated: Paris [France], August 1747;
Folio 38: C des Crosses to Mrs Ellinor Sican, Dublin, [Ireland]. Grateful for the recent correspondence and sending news of her time in Paris. Dated: Paris [France] 2 August 1747;
Folio 38: Catherine Dalton to Mrs Sican. Sad to hear news of loved ones in Ireland. Asks for her regards to be given to family and friends. Concerned to hear of the poor trade and 'general calamity' in Ireland;
Folio 40. Denis Sughrue to James McCarthy in Leiden [Holland]. Sughrue asks for assistance in gaining passage back to London as he is unable to obtain a passport at present. Dated at Helford Slue [Helvoetsluys, Netherlands]. 7 Nov 1747.
