Folio 106-107. Copy of letter from Colyn [Colin] MacKenzie, minister of Fodderty [Ross-shire], to Duke of Newcastle, defending [Earl of] Cromertie and denigrating 'glaring falsehoods' presented [at Jacobite trials] in St Margaret's [Hill, Southwark, Surrey] by the 'Lochbroom [Ross-shire] evidences'. 'Lochbroom party' committed the 'outrages' in Ferintosh [Urquhart, Ross-shire] and Ferrindonnel [Ferindonald], and Barrisdale used Cromartie's name to cover up his own cruelties. John MacKenzie of Torridon [Ross-shire] never used force. Lord Fortrose unsuccessfully urged people of Lochbroom to fight for the King. Discusses 'my famous infamous brother Robertson MacKenzie's conduct'. Mentions £50 stolen from 'poor honest Cameron the schoolmaster of Lochbroom'. Also refers to a 'letter of revocation' subscribed by friends of the prisoners' previously corresponded about.
