Minutes of meeting between Duke of Newcastle, Attorney General [Sir Dudley Ryder], and Solicitor General [William Murray], with [John] Sharpe attending, concerning [Jacobite] prisoners and any future proceedings, including 66 held at Tilbury [Fort, Essex], mentioning Sir Hector Mackenzie. Custody of messengers: Ronald McDonald; Anne McKinnon; Pattison; Doctor [John] Burton; St John; Aneas [Aeneas] McDonald; William Parsons; Andrew Cockburn; John Gray. New Gaol [Southwark, Surrey]: [?Alexander] Low; [?Peter] Cushnie; Duncan Gordon; James Moody; Kenneth McKenzie; William McGuire. Lancaster Gaol [Lancashire]: Peter Donnall [Donald]; Thomas Jones; Henry Paincy; James Hulley; Thomas Gornall. Enquiries to be made concerning: Edward Barrow; Jeoffrey [Jeffrey] Battersby; John Tomlinson; Daniel Mellor. Chester Castle [Cheshire]: prisoners, mostly women and children, to be discharged, except John Kent. York Castle [Yorkshire]: Enquiries due into Buck's memorandum. Mentions Lord Mordington. French Officers to be pardoned, or sent away. Lord Albemarle, General Huske, Lord Justice Clerk [Andrew Fletcher, Lord Milton] and Lord Advocate [William Grant, Lord Prestongrange] to decide 'most guilty' on Scottish prisoner list.
