Description

Folio 87. Duke of Queensbury [to Duke of Newcastle] in favour of the [Jacobite] Moir brothers' petition, mentioning the support of the Duke of Roxburgh. Filed with:

Folio 85-86. Petition of Robert Moir, farmer, and Henry Moir, surgeon and apothecary, of Tivotdale near Kelso [Roxburgh], now prisoners in New Gaol, [Southwark], Surrey, and due to be executed tomorrow. Describes meeting in Dalkeith [Midlothian] where they were pressed into the rebel service, their escape, and their arrest and detention in Berwick [upon Tweed, Northumberland, Berwickshire].
