Folios 43-44. Draft of letter from Duke of Newcastle to Brigadier Price and Lieutenant General Jones, directing that, [following the Jacobite Rebellion], French prisoners-of-war in Berwick [upon Tweed, Northumberland, Berwickshire] should be sent to Captain [Ruvigny] de Cosne in Calais [France] for exchange, allowing any 'natural born subjects' to remain in Britain if they are not Roman Catholic. Prisoners to be sent to Berwick, from Scotland by Lord Albemarle, and from Carlisle [Cumberland] by Brigadier Fleming. Dated at Whitehall.
