Folios 103-104. Prisoners at Maidstone [Kent] to Captain Eares [Stratford Eyre] informing him that they have not received any payments from the King of France but have only received 4d per day subsistence, not enough to live on, from King George. The letter asks Eyre to address this and also to write to Mr Colder [Calder], Justice of the Peace, to get them moved to 'the other prison' where they can live at more ease. Letter signed by: John Hearen, Peater [Peter] Croghan, Charles Collins, James McDannell, John Downes, William Cowan. Letter endorsed: 'recommended to Mr Ramsden's consideration and that he will be pleased to communicate the content to Mr Stone or the Duke of Newcastle'
