Folios 82-83. Memorial of Alexander Robertson of Straloch [Perthshire] alias Baron Reid, who describes being sent by the Duke [of Cumberland] to Glen Isla [Angus] to enquire whether the Earl of Airlie had forced his vassals and tenants to join the [Jacobite] rebels, mentioning the Earl's steward or factor Duncan Shaw, William Shaw, Mr Ogilvie of Shanlie, John Ogilvie of Kennie, William Ogilvie of Kennie, Thomas Ogilivie of East Miln, Mr Duff of Forfechie, to meet at his house at Cortachy [Angus]. Names as potential witnesses: Mr Scot minister at Kingoldrum [Kirkton of Kingoldrum, Angus?]; Mr Robertson minister of Aylath [Alyth, Angus?]; Mr?Wanden schoolmaster at Aylath; Mr Ogilvie, minister at Kirriemuir [Angus]; Mr Brown, minister of Lintreathen [Lintrathen, Angus?] and his son the minster at Cortachy; Mr Bog, Presbyterian minister in Braemar and Robert Farquarson in Kinnadie, brother to Francis Farquarson ordered for execution. Suggests William Robertson of Inches, and Frazer, farm clerk at Inverness [Inverness-shire], as witnesses for the treason of Glengary, and Fraser Dale and his son as witnesses against [Lord] Lovatt. Claims that [clan?] McDonald at Glengarry, who are 'the most thieving villains in Scotland', were among the first to join Glengary's rebels. Says that Glengary put his men under his second son Angus, but when that son was killed at [the Battle of] Falkirk, replaced him as colonel with his third son, aged 13 years. Also describes him sending men to Strathdone [Aberdeenshire], to force his father-in-law, Gordon of Glenbucket into rebel arms, naming a prisoner John Farquarson as witness to the fact. Dated at London.
