Folios 71-78. Paper with further information of Jacobite activities in France and Britain, from autumn 1742 to 1745, focusing on Drummond [Balhaldie alias McGregor], Lord Traquair, Cameron of Lochiel, Lord Perth. Touches on a Swedish invasion, proposed by Cardinal Fleury, involving Mr Semple and [French secretary of state for foreign affairs Jean-Jacques] Amelot [de Chaillou's]; Jacobites support from Lord Barrymore, Sir John Hynde [Hind] Cotton, and Sir Watkin Williams Wynn; Mr Butler, 'an Irish gentleman in the King of France's service' visiting England, including Litchfield Races, and purchase of horses; plans to raise £12,000; pro-Stuart feeling in York [Yorkshire] among the mayor [William Stephenson] and some aldermen, their intention to raise 10,000 men, to present compliments to the 'Pretender's youngest son' [Henry Benedict Stuart] in a gold box, and intentions to bar the next whig mayor from office; promised French invasion in January 1744, and Drummond's visit to Rome [Italy] to persuade 'the Pretender' [James Francis Edward Stuart] to send his son [Charles Edward Stuart] to embark from Dunkirk; Lord Marischal's force of 3,000 men; proposed visit to 'the army in Flanders'; meeting at Doctor Barry's house [in Craven Street, London, Middlesex], mentioning 'one [Andrew] Cockburn, a hosier' [of Johnson's Court, Charing Cross, London, Middlesex]; request from France to send pilots to the 'intendent of marines' in Dieppe; meeting in Rotterdam [Netherlands] with Drummond, who 'pretended he had come to purchase arms'; meeting in Paris with [Aeneas] McDonald, the banker; Murray's meeting with [Charles Edward Stuart], his allegation that Semple and Drummond 'were not acting fairly by him', with written account from Senlis [France]; correspondence with Sir Thomas Sheriden, Lord Elcho, Mr Kelly; the Pretender's want of money; the Meuse [Mews?] Coffee House [London?]; Edinburgh meeting with Traquair and Cameron of Lochiel; opposition to a landing by [Charles Edward Stuart], shared by Sheridan, Elcho, Stuart of Appin, and others, and the failure to reach Charles Edward, in Paris, of a letter to this effect; Lord Glencartie.
