Folios 102-103. Petition of Edmund Neeler from Hammersmith [Middlesex], requesting Letters Patent for the sole use of a chemically treated medicinal belt he has invented. It protects against diseases and vermin, and can keep bedding and clothes clean. Neeler served on the ship Royal Sovereign, where his invention proved successful. With note from [the Earl of] Harrington, referring petition to Attorney General or Solicitor General. Filed with:
1. Folios 104-105. Affidavit of Neeler, sworn before W Spicer. Dated at the Public Office, 13 March 1746.
2. Folios 106-108. Attorney General Dudley Ryder's report concerning Neeler's petition. Recommends that the petitioner is granted Letters Patent for his invention. Neeler must submit a description of the invention to be enrolled in the Court of Chancery. Dated 15 March 1746.
