Folios 96-97. Petition of Diederick Wessel Linden, a doctor who has discovered a means to make salt petre using only English ingredients. Requests sole use and advantage of his invention for 14 years. With note from [the Earl of] Harrington, referring petition to Attorney General or Solicitor General. Filed with:
1. Folio 98. Affidavit of Linden, sworn before W Spicer. Dated at the Public Office.
2. Folios 99-100. Attorney General Dudley Ryder's report on Linden's petition. Recommends that the petitioner is granted Letters Patent for his invention. Linden must submit a description of the invention to be enrolled in the Court of Chancery. Dated 17 March 1746.
