Folio 75 and 77. Duke of Bolton to Newcastle, concerning beacons in Hampshire. Dated at Hanover Square [Middlesex]. Enclosure:
1. Folio 76. R Woodroffe, Thomas Bates, John Sheppard, and N Powlett (Deputy Lieutenants of Hampshire), to Duke of Bolton. Account of expenses incurred relating to beacons in Hampshire. They suggest that the beacons should be taken down or the watch removed, unless the King wishes them to be maintained. Dated at Winchester [Hampshire], 8 March 1746.
