Petition from Edmund (Bishop of London) and other clergymen: John Bettesworth; Sir Henry Penrice; John Andrew; William Strahan; Thomas Fowle; Fifield Allen; Thomas Cartwright; John Cole. Requesting powers to govern 'the Charity for the Relief of poor Clergymen' in Essex, Braughing [Hertfordshire], St Albans [Hertfordshire] and Diocese of London. With note, referring petition to attorney general or solicitor general for consideration, dated at Whitehall [Middlesex], 23 December 1746.
2. Folio 105. Affidavit of John Jauncey, of Charles Street, Westminster [Middlesex]. Supporting petition. Sworn before S Burrough. Dated at 'the public office', 20 January 1747.
