Folios 91-92. Francis Brayne, Mayor of Exeter, to [Newcastle]. Congratulates King's armies for success against 'Rebelious subjects' [Jacobites]. Citizen's scheme stopped by delayed response to Brayne's previous letter (dated 30 October 1745); Part of subscription money returned to proprietors and new scheme was set up. Held meeting to discuss two schemes, but is concerned that neither will prove effective. Dated at Exeter [Devon].
