With copy of letter delivered to correspondent in Edinburgh on 26 December 1745: Rebels [Jacobites] in Scotland becoming more "troublesome"; extra troops have gone from Stirling [Stirlingshire] to Edinburgh, and part of the bridge has been blown up to hinder rebels. Lord John Drummond discharged ministers in Angus. Mr Willison, preacher, was pulled from the pulpit at Dundee. Young Pretender [Charles Edward Stewart] has reached Glasgow. Dated at York [Yorkshire].
