Folios 77-78. Colonel Ellison's observations of the coast of Sussex. Information about geography and topography of coast. Details bays where troops could land, and necessary wind conditions for landing. Outlines state of main roads and rivers between coast and London; suggests enemy army would go west over South Downs, or east to Hastings [Sussex] and Rye [Sussex], then to Maidstone [Kent] or Canterbury [Kent]. Recommends stationing troops at Rye, Romney [Kent], Lydd [Kent], Dymchurch [Kent] and Hith [Hythe, Kent]. Unserviceable cannon battery at Seaford [Sussex] should be replaced. Dated at London.
