No news from Edinburgh or Stocton [Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham/Yorkshire] about forage. Enough forage for six or eight squadrons, but concerned about need to supply Hessians and chief magazine at Stirling [Stirlingshire]. Awaiting power to hold courts-martial from Newcastle. [Carried] 'by Lambe' [messenger]. Dated at Newcastle [Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland].
