Folios 14-15. Draft. Newcastle to Sir Conyers D'arcy. Lords Lieutenant and gentlemen of York [Yorkshire] will hold meeting on Monday [30 December] at Pontefract [Yorkshire], to discuss raising recruits for Marshal Wade's army. Newcastle suggests willing volunteers could be drafted out of Yorkshire regiments and into Marshal Wade's army. Yorkshire companies should be maintained with fewer private men. Final decision rests with Earl of Malton, Lord Irwin, D'arcy, and county gentlemen. Dated at Whitehall [Middlesex].
