Folios 10-11. Draft. Newcastle to Earl of Malton. Thanks Malton for agreeing to assist with recruitment for Marshal Wade's army; meeting of Lords Lieutenant and gentlemen to be held at Pomfret [Pontefract, Yorkshire] on Monday [30 December] to discuss. Newcastle suggests willing volunteers could be drafted out of Yorkshire regiments and into Marshal Wade's army. Yorkshire companies should be maintained with fewer private men. Final decision rests with Malton, Lord Irwin, Sir Conyers D'arcy, and county gentlemen. Dated at Whitehall [Middlesex].
