Description

Folios 63-64. MacDonell the younger of Glengarry [Inverness-shire] to Monsieur Gordon, at Scottish College in Paris. Ship sailed from Dunkirk but was damaged in a storm. Taken prisoner by English warship, now in the Tower as 'prisoners of State'. Asks Gordon to get Mr Waller's to contact his correspondent in London to advance MacDonell some money until he is released. Asks him to advise Mr Lumly and Mr Maxwell of his imprisonment. Letter to be delivered by Monsieur Waller, banker at Paris. Dated at Tower of London.
