Folios 56-57. Information of Sarah Gaylard against against James Dowdell, 'Romish' [Catholic] priest. He receives correspondence from 'Pretender's Party' [Jacobites], and translates letters from abroad. Spoke about Pretender's son's [Charles Edward Stuart's] plans; Kelly will be Lord Chancellor and Russel, non-juring clergyman, will be Bishop of London. Dowdell regularly drank the Pretender's health. He conceals documents at house of Mrs Brett, pamphlet seller in the Strand [London, Middlesex]. Taken before Thomas Waite. Dated at Westminster [Middlesex].
