Folios 11-12. Examination of Thomas Bowdler. Questioned about Mr Gordon, non-juring clergyman at house in Fisher Street, Red Lyon Square [London]. Denies sending papers to Streaton Hall [Stratton Hall, Bedfordshire], seat of his father-in-law [John] Cotton. Never communicated 'in Cypher, Latin, French, or German' with [Robert] Lyon, non-juring clergyman. Mr Lefebure of the Post Office owes him money. Asked about communication with Mr Waters, banker in Paris, and Mr Hay, wine merchant in Boulogne [France]. Knows no one involved in [Jacobite] rebellion. Sister married to [Robert] Gordon of Aberdeen [Aberdeenshire]. Corresponding with Thomas and Adam Fairholm, Lords of the Session in Edinburgh, concerning debt from Lord Ereshine. Taken before Thomas Waite at Whitehall. Dated at Westminster [Middlesex].
