Folios 7-9. Draft. Newcastle to Viscount Irwin. Lords Lieutenant and gentlemen of York [Yorkshire] will hold meeting on Monday [30 December] at Pontefract [Yorkshire], to discuss raising recruits for Marshal Wade's army. Newcastle suggests volunteers could be drafted out of Yorkshire regiments and into Marshal Wade's army. Yorkshire companies should be maintained with fewer private men. Final decision rests with Irwin, Earl of Malton, Sir Conyers D'arcy, and county gentlemen. Dated at Whitehall [Middlesex].
